Full Definition
Section 21 allows landlords to end an AST without stating a reason, provided correct procedures are followed. Minimum notice is 2 months. The Renters' Rights Bill proposes abolishing Section 21, replacing it with expanded Section 8 grounds. Currently valid Section 21 requires compliance with deposit protection, gas safety, EPC, and How to Rent guide requirements.
